The only bad part of this game are the certain things that are always 100% the same, which make sense that they are but still, after playing it for a long time you can remember exactly those things are and what they do.All in all a 9\/10! I defeated the rebels, crushed all resistance, culled the hordes of Orcs, slaughtered the bandits, all the minor factions that were vassalizeable were vassalized. I was hated but feared and I would go great lengths to get what I wanted. I wasn't defeated on the battle field but I was defeated by some shiny rocks I touched too many times.. Fun little sim game. Sort of Like Reigns but more complex. I look forward to seeing what the dev does next as far as updates and even their next project. :-). While it's quite deep and interesting, the UI is rather hard to navigate through if you're not used to text based games, and it lacks a save file browser which makes it awkward to keep track of your saves.Despite all this, at it's current price this game is completely worth it if you're looking for a decent strategy game, and there's a lot of potential for future development. Hells yeah.. There is a lot of content here but there is very little gameplay, which is what I was hoping for. A million small details and nods and references, as though the developer was a great Dungeon Master, but still it's lacking. A year into its EA release and there haven't really been enough core gameplay improvements to make it worth playing again. I wish the dev luck.. This game is really good. It reminds me of when I used to play MUDs/MUSHs as a teen in the 90s (without the "multi user" part) even though I know that fundamentally Warsim is a different breed entirely as it's more of a simulation game. That's where it shines.It's definitely only going to appeal to a niche audience, but if you like deep, text based ASCII games and/or sim games, you're right at home here. I'd also say if you enjoy Dwarf Fortress there's a good chance you'd be into Warsim as well. (For the depth as opposed to just the similar graphical style.) If you think the premise sounds interesting but aren't sure if you want to take the $5 plunge, over on IndieDB you can download the early (pre Steam release) versions of the game to at least get an idea of what it's like. The last update there was in June of 2017 though, so I'm sure a lot has changed, but like I said, that should be enough to tell you whether or not it's for you.I'd recommend this game without hesitation. Buy it, have a good time and enjoy a throwback to an older time in gaming where style and depth won out over frantic, ADD gameplay.
